This blouse is coming along just fine. It fits well, the pattern instructions were flawless, and I've been fantasizing about wearing it. ( I hope we all do that .)
I have had a difficult time finding the right navy blue buttons for it. I should have done what some more organized sewist do,and gather all my notions during the planning stage. However, being me,means plans change almost every step of the way.
I searched through my button jars and then a trip to Hancock Fabrics. Tomorrow I'll try Joann Fabrics. I'm a little worried because both stores carry similar buttons.
I the mean time I will finishing some UFOs. I don't want to go into the new year with any unfinished projects.
I have three UFOs:
1.Coat for my daughter.
2. Quilt partially quilted
3. Top from back in August (sometime I just lose motivation and get board with a perfectly good project)
I'll be "sewing my bobbins off "for the next few days.

The top is looking good. Did you ever think of covering some buttons if you can't find navy ones? It might solve your problem and it would coordinate perfectly. BTW, I love your sewing my bobbins off phrase!
That top is so cute, love the polka dot.
I agree with Carolyn and using covered buttons. I think they'll look nice on the blouse.
With what size did you start? I've had this pattern on my list for a while but have been afraid to get into it given my history with fitting woven blouses.
That's so pretty. Love the polka dots. I agree with Carolyn--covered buttons would be perfect.
Polka Dots are my favorite. I haven't made a polka dot top yet, but I want too soon.
That blouse is looking great.
I love this top! I fantasize about wearing something that is newly made myself! And i am for anything that is has polka dots. You know what I always say - wear it out even if you are only taking an afternoon stroll to get some cake! You will be the best dressed can eater they have ever seen!
I missed this post and had to go back from today's post. LOVE, LOVE this blouse. It is so darn pretty. Can't wait to see it on you.
Happy New Year!
this is beautiful! I have this pattern, but hadn't focused on making this particular view. I really love this...I will be including it in my 2013 "to do list."
